Derby County boss Wayne Rooney and his players saw their unbeaten league run come to an end with the defeat handed to them at Birmingham City. Wayne Rooney had led the Rams to a run of three games without defeat before the Birmingham City game at St. Andrews on Friday night. At the end of proceedings in the week six English Championship encounter, Derby County lost their unbeaten run to Birmingham City via a 2-0 loss with goals from Scott Hogan and Jeremie Bela. The goals from Hogan and Bela handed Wayne Rooney his first defeat in four league matches as Derby County boss.

Rooney had a lot of problems including injuries and the lack of transfers before the start of the season but he has been able to withstand those issues to make a decent start to the new English Championship season. The ex-England national team skipper also had to deal with being pictured with some naked girls a few weeks before the start of the season. Wayne Rooney weathered the storm to lead Derby County to an impressive run of just one defeat in the first five games.

Derby County started the new English Championship season with a 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield Town before they were beaten 2-1 at newly promoted side Peterborough United in their second league game. The Rams secured their first league win of the season with a 1-0 win at the home of another newly promoted side, Hull City in what was one of the games in matchweek three.

Wayne Rooney masterminded a goalless draw with Middlebrough and a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in the fourth and fifth league game for Derby County respectively to take the unbeaten run to three matches. That run came to an end via the defeat to hosts Birmingham City on Friday night.
